I'm not really sure that would be too distracting, considering that if teams really wanted they could copy armor and wep ideas from the ugly armor combination thread.

I thinks the headpieces should cost more as a penalty, but I don't have a problem with the obnoxious headgear. (glares at chaos gloves+dread masks)

Pumpkins look great with Kurzik warrior armor.
It's like a dullahan or something like that, XD.

You made it so that it isn't cheap at all so people wouldn't be changing it every min and balanced too so that there aren't lvl 1's running around with max armor
(though that's what the droks run is for)

Excellent and well thought out idea!
I don't see how making these things wearable while playing is any different from the EoTN headpieces. I imagine a fair bit of work goes into making the festival hats it'd be nice if they were given some usefulness and not just sitting in limbo with the festival hat creator taking up server space for a relatively trivial item.

some festival hats are fun to wear all the time! Armor value would be nice for when wearing during AB and the like.

I know many people don't like many of the festival hats. I understand what personal opinion is. However, I know that many people don't like the current armor sets as well, or the common armors. Chaos Gloves on anything but a Mesmer annoys me because I don't like it covering the entire forearm. Mask of Mo Zing on 90% of the classes/armor combos also looks dumb to me. So I am simply looking for a way to make use of some of what I find to be the nicest armor designs. These are 4 pictures of some armor pieces I would use if they actually gave me armor, and not just the look.
I know several people would live to use their Ancient Rit armor with a Mummy Mask, etc. and don't see this as being a problem, or hard to do. But I'm guessing about the difficulty as I'm not a programmer.

Though, to point out a few things...

You mean, like everyone wears armor? (And the numerous people wearing Chaos Gloves?)

Have zero armor if want to wear it. Punishment enough I say.

I can't believe that you would make a connection like that.
As Arkantos simply put it:

In case you can't tell, I like this idea quite a bit.
People who are saying no because a lot of them look silly - yeah, really not a valid response, I'd say. You see people walking around in Chaos Gloves and Masks of the Mo Zing all the time, and I'd say that looks far more ridiculous. Or some of the armor combos I see - ye gods, get it away.

+1 +1 +1 +1 +1.
Oh, and for Magma - I do like the example screenshot you included. The characters look awesome.

Real armour headpieces for max defense cost 1k minimum. I refuse to pay that for a hat I will wear on Holidays only for an event and then throw away after that event, and it doesnt make sense to make it cheaper so no one would buy the real armour piece instead. Nor do I want to save it because of the cost just to have it sit there all year taking up valuable inventory slots.
As you are so fond of telling everyone else on the threads, Magma, when they have ideas you dont care about.... Get over it. Its the way it is and you will just have to deal with it.

Apparently you can't bother to read the OP, so I'll bring it up just for you~!
New NPC, similar to the Festival Hats guy that lets you make the hats for any character. For a fee, and crafting materials, he can turn a Festival Hat you already own, into a piece of armor.
3) Armor - same as hero armor, based on class and level of character.
People who don't want an armor version, pay nothing, and have the same thing they always have had.
Back OT. I'm thinking that if they actually implement this, it would probably be around wintersday, since the live team has been spending their time on the halloween quests.

Just guessing , if this would be implemented , would there be a chance of getting old festival hats for ppl that couldnt get them/joined game recently ?. Thats something to consider imo.

Personally, I'd love to get a Jester's Cap and a Witch's Hat.... but I missed getting them. I understand the idea of not giving them out to people not at the event though, so can deal with not having them. If they did make an option to get old masks, I'd hope it was seperate from the idea I am suggesting here.

/signed if there's a way to get older hats that are no longer available. Since most of the ones I'd like to wear as armour, are from before I played Guild Wars.
The idea that people who missed events or joined the game more recently shouldn't be able to get the hats is an incredibly bitter, spiteful, and stupid one.
